So I'm thinking about pouncing on this -- currently my main amp is a Darkvoice SE336, which I love. Also tried a CTH which I liked but did not love. Will be driving HD800 and Beyer T1.2. Any advice?

WESXFDarkvoice is good for HD600 and Beyer 880, or T90, but not the level of HD800 or T1; H20 is designed and tuned based on HD800, will be a good choice for you. But if you like tube amp only, pick something else.

WESXFGo for it dude, HD800 will love what's coming out of H20, I am mightily impressed myself. Also keep in mind that you can swap opams to fine-tune the sound to your liking, similar to tube rolling.

NWJasonSure! they are Sparkos SS3602 Dual Discrete Op Amps, available at https://sparkoslabs.com/discrete-op-amps/.
They are fairly easy to install -- if you tell them you are a first-time customer they will give you a break on the first order.

WESXFSparko's are the best discrete opamps out there, may seem expensive but well worth it imho, they make very notable difference in almost every aspect - blacker background, expansive stage, deeper lows and more detail over all.
I'd also recommend NewClassD's opamps, though they are even more expensive. Still like Sparko's better for they seem to excel in the lows, NewClassD may be revealing a tiny fraction more details. We're talking such a small difference, hardly any, really, one can't go wrong with either of those. And I'd put both above Burson, just my opinion again.

WESXFThanks WESXF. I am contacting Sparkos. Do you need to do anything other than plop in the replacement using an chip removal tool? Is there soldering involved? Is there a specific model of the SS3602? Is the sound much improved?

airjamesI too vouch for Sparko's opamps wholeheartedly, best opamps I've tried, and I've tried Burson as well as NewClsssD (still have the latter). And yes, go with SS3602, the dual design - you'll need 2 of those, they are expensive but 100% worth it especially if you have really good set of cans. Soundstage is expanded, lows hit deeper with higher overall resolution.
There's no soldering involved, just get a pair of tweezers, pull the OEM ones and insert the new in their place. H20 is a beast, and with discrete opamps like those it delivers some serious sound, I dare say it beats just about anything within $2-2.5K,
P.S. Forgot to mention that you should exercise care when replacing the opamps and make sure the you position them exactly as the original ones were positioned - there's a half-circle notch on one side that should match the opamp's base, or simply note how the OEM were plugged in and plugged the Sparko's the same way.
