HeadphonulusMaximus1So... you in? I need two more people to join :-P
DontDooDadSorry, but no, I've already bought one. I'm new to Massdrop so apparently I zigged when I was supposed to Zag on it. Maybe somebody will clue me in on the next thing. (Those Elex's are my next temptation...not going to look down...don't look at the ad...don't look at the ad, CRAP...I looked) BTW, I LOVE my H20. I wanted one balanced output, High Current Class A amp in my collection and this one's everything you could want. I'm a Solid State guy, so it checks all my boxes. I can't imagine anybody's finding fault with it. It's everything good that the H10 was, just twice as much of it. A seriously good Class A amp. If I had the money to speculate with I'd buy two and keep one to sell when they go out of production. Best of luck!

HeadphonulusMaximus1Ah, congrats! That's reassuring for those of us missing reviews. I don't know what the next best thing is, but I joined the THX AAA drop and the Topping DX7s one. We'll see!

DontDooDadI'm in. My LCD2's have been waiting for upgrades and after getting the Elex, I am now ready to see what upgrades will do. I have the Airist audio Heron 5 amp and Cambridge Audio Dacmagic Plus and Chord Mojo. Getting a Topping DX7s and Gustard H20, Audeze cables from Amplifier Surgery, and discrete op amps from Sparkos(this image makes the LM741 seem like it's 3 steps down and beyond revelation).

airjamesI love my H20, so can definitely recommend it, at least with the SS3602s, though I'd have to downgrade to see whether they are really that different. The treble is much smoother than it was in the beginning, but I was noticing that even before the upgrade. Burn in, maybe?
I'm not thrilled about the DX7s yet, but I only got it on Monday. I don't get the nice soundstage improvements with DX7s + H20 that I got from Yggy + H20. Very different price categories, of course.
DontDooDadSame here. Except I can highly recommend the D50 as a possible altnerative to the DX7. (I haven't owned a DX7 so I can't directly compare them.) I Highly recommend the H20. I will say it's bigger than I expected it to be, but I also believe it's wise not to crowd Class A circuitry when designing an amp because of heat dissapation concerns. (The H20 runs relatively COOL in my installation.) I've seen that mistake turn a bunch of Home Amps into boat anchors. In my experience, it was sufficiently problematic that until THIS amp, I haven't owned a Class A amplifier (that was in the Home Audio Power Amplifier category though) since 1986. This experience is VERY different from that one. If you have the desk real estate for it, it's worth every penny. No complaints whatsoever.

HeadphonulusMaximus1Agreed. One benefit of the size is having the space for two balanced inputs, which the Jotunheim doesn't have. Makes it much easier to compare balanced DACs. :-D Mine runs pretty warm, but it also sits on the Yggdrasil, providing some additional warmth. Nothing compared to the Lyr 2 that I tried, which was almost painful to touch.
DontDooDadYes, but with the LISST's it's more manageable with very little change in the sound. I have tubes for it as well, but I don't run them very often. I just keep them for comparison purposes when trying different 'phones. I highly recommend both. One day I'm going to pick up a Yggy, but I haven't found one at the right price point yet.

HeadphonulusMaximus1Yeah, the LISST "tubes" sound very similar to the stock tubes, I was surprised. I missed my transients! The Jotunheim sounded much better to me. But I am pretty curious about the Lyr 3. But maybe I should wait for a Mjolnir 3. :) And I'm curious about a Ragnarok 2. If only people sent me free gear! Well, iFi did. I shouldn't complain. :-D
DontDooDadRe: Free gear...yeah, what YOU said, lol. I have an iFi iPhono. It's quite fine. Without being sent a next gen version free for evaluation, that's all I'm saying about it, lol...

HeadphonulusMaximus1Speaking from experience, you'll have to put some effort into it ;) Like, file a bug or whatever their next campaign is. And actually there's an xDSD tour going on right now, apparently they will give the loaners to randomly drawn participants after.
