Does the silver dial have a true silver dial? Also, why use the 2892 instead of the 2824? I thought the former was a chrono movement.

SkipPpMost dials are brass with a finishing layer on top, silver here is a descriptor rather than a material. The ETA 2892 is a thinner, technically higher grade movement than the 2824, though the actual advantages are debatable. You're thinking of the 2894, which is a modular chronograph: a 2892 movement as a base with an added chronograph module on top.
