So instead of plugging the usb wire into the host device, you can plug it into a bluetooth adapter, and then plug that into an external battery for a "wireless" solution. I'm not saying nobody wants or needs this, but it's got to be one of the most narrow use-cases I've ever seen.

KeyboardLackingI have the previous version, the BT-400, and I use it a lot with my iPad. The iPad has difficulty with directly connected USB devices like keyboards, and so Bluetooth is the only reliable connectivity solution I've found. The BT-400 has its own battery, but it only lasts about a day or so of moderate use, and so I just leave it plugged in to a charging adapter full time. So while I'm not really taking advantage of its portability or "wirelessness", so to speak (unlike my Plum Nano 75s which require no cables of any kind except when recharging), I am taking advantage of the fact that the iPad prefers keyboards to talk to it using the Bluetooth protocol rather than direct USB.
