I have a nearly full Wicked Edge set up right now, but I've always wanted to try out an Edge Pro style system. This is a very attractive one, with it's non-plastic build, at a very attractive price. I venture to say that this is what I would get if I were in the market for an Edge Pro... sorry Edge Pro, but at $150+, I'm not paying for plastic, one of the reasons I went with the Wicked Edge over 5 years ago.

DanTheKnifeManWowww, that suitcase full of organised, protected knives screams 'true hobbyist'! As someone who really likes many knives and owns a few but has no need for most of them, can I ask honestly: what on earth do you do with all those knives?

DanTheKnifeManWicked edge is nice but too expensive and many get better results with the edge pro or hapstone. There are a few Russian sharpening systems that put the wicked edge to shame. The newer budget wicked edge is actually pretty attractive in the marketplace.

DanTheKnifeManDan, you can easily build an adapter, that will enable you to use all your Wicked Edge stones on the Hapstone V6.
However, it took me more than four months and a I went through a lot of trouble to find the right, cheap components, that will make it possible. Some of the components even had to be fine-tuned to get them to fit together.
Knowing what I know today, it’s quite straight forward, though. Let me know, if you want some advice on this…

ronCYAI carry (via rotation, not at once lol), most of them... But really I could make do with just a few of them for all my utility needs. I just really like knives, and I find it really relaxing just to open my knife case from time to time and go through them from time to time.

anonomousI agree it is very expensive, and one can get similar results with cheaper set ups... The price dose not faze me to much though because it's paid for it's self many times over. When I bough my first WE set up, there were not any clones on the market, in fact, the only thing like it in the market, at lest universally available, was the Edge Pro. The knife market/community has changed greatly since I got into it so many years ago, there seems to be a higher stress on knife care and maintenance now a days... More people into guided sharpening.

DanTheKnifeManAh that makes sense. So it's not so much that you have a genuine use for all the blades, rather that you use a few and just enjoying owning knives.

HaffnerYou should write up your experience and post it somewhere on the internet for posterity. I imagine that someone out there it tearing their hair out right now trying to do exactly what you're talking about.
