just go to home depot and have them slice off a piece of a 2x4 and spray paint it and voila you have this product

balognaFALCONahhaha like your way of thinking ..i did the same for my desk ..got the feet and the framework from ikea (GALANT desk without the table top) and went to a home depot and got a pice of wood painted it and voila..
But one little problem i forgot and that was the quality of the wood and the affect it would have after i was done staining it with a couple of coats. The result is a nice finch but the wood started to curve just slightly because i applied more paint on one side. And the wood was not hardwood but a regular plain wood type..
Remember that cutting a pice of real hard wood is very hard to do..And you want a type of hardwoord if you are going to use it with your hands (skin oils and so on).
