Helgray was founded under three guiding principles: affordability, accuracy, and ease of maintenance. The Pioneer series fits right into that mindset. This drop features five different watches, each with a 42-millimeter stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, calfskin leather strap, and easy-to-read dial. The main offering here, the Field Officer II has a military time scale around the chapter ring as opposed to minutes markings. It features large, lumed Arabic numerals in white to offset the black dial, plus a date window at 6 o’clock. Upgrade to the California II for Roman numerals, to the GMT II to track another time zone, or to the Skyfighter for chronograph functionality. If you’re into automatic movement, check out the Brigadier, which is backed by a Japanese Miyota automatic movement as opposed to battery-operated quartz.
