We offer both button stud straps and standard buckle straps in a variety of leathers from veg tan, to shell cordovan. By far the product that most people are interested in is the veg tan button stud strap. It just may be because the price makes it the most accessible. I think that is why the Massdrop community and administrators were interested in offering this item. You are definitely correct that the veg tan straps are stiffer than any chrome tanned strap will be. I have worn a veg tan strap that really did soften up nicely though. Currently I wear a button stud strap in Chromexcel, and I do find it to be more comfortable than the veg tan strap, but many customers prefer the vegetable tanned leather. You have our apologies if your strap did not soften to your expectations.
Our goal here was to offer a quality item at a very accessible price. I hope we were able to do that for you.
