wiemerimerSo, here we go. (should've looked here earlier, but just got home and had time to sit down and really dig into this a bit)

The "fancy" hero shot of the black knife here at MD is a shot of the Shirogami (white) steel version... A $90-100 knife. (based on comparing the kanji on the handles)
The other pics here could either be the Aogami (blue) steel, or the SK (cheaper tool steel). So, benefit of the doubt, the description here of this being the blue steel version is likely correct. In which case the price is okay, but nothing exceptional. (but not comparable to the $15-20 versions linked to Amazon)
But still, fucked up that they're advertising with the white steel picture.
It is getting to be REAL frustrating that the members around here seem to do more fact checking than the staff ever do. It's getting to be beyond just bordering on false advertising in some cases.
