Hi everyone,
It has been brought to our attention that you may have received the incorrect blade color for this run. We apologize for the error, it is not in our intention to ship out a product that wasn’t advertised.
This is an important matter and we want you to know we’re doing everything we can to make it right. You may write into Customer Support and we’ll look into your order as soon as possible.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention, we hear you and apologize for the inconvenience.
Thanks,
Kylee
kyleemjHi Kylee,
Glad to see there was a response to this, but there should be an email sent out to all who ordered, not just a message in the discussion.
Many people don't come back to view the discussions after making purchases.
If it's not a reliable way for customers to communicate issues with staff, and we're expected to email support for anything serious, than it should certainly be the same the other way around as well.
(When this exact same thing happened on this item a year ago, Drop knew this and communicated the issue via email)

Maybe you can look into this one as well? Again, can't get any responses from kyleemj.
These sorts of issues really need more than just a post on the discussion page, you should be contacting all buyers directly with a resolution offer. As was done in the past, as was done with the Natrix fiasco.
Please see other comments below as well, particularly:
https://drop.com/buy/higonokami-folders/talk/2478427
And the comments before and after that.
This is another long running issue that has never been corrected even after its been brought to your attention and run incorrectly multiple times
Got mine on 7/27/2019. Just like everyone else, the kanji on mine says "blue." I expected it would be blue on arrival, so I'm not upset. Fit and finish is pretty rough, but a little bit of 320 sandpaper on the spine helps knock off the sharp edges. It came razor sharp out of the box which is very nice.
Just received mine with order date 7/15/2019. First kanji character on the blade is "blue". I should have listened to the comments here. I will be requesting a refund. Also the action is very stiff as was commented, requires two hands to unfold the blade.
If you mean anything to do about the stiffness : because of the rivet for the pivot, about the only option for loosening it up is to play with it a bunch.
If you mean about being unhappy with the purchase : go to your transactions, find this on your list, click contact support and tell them that what they sent you isn't what they advertised.
Get a full refund and have them pay for return shipping.
Or get $10 back like they did the last time they screwed up this drop and still haven't fixed it.
@steve
Can you please advise who we should tag for issues requiring responses from Drop in the blades community? Tagging kyleem and/or Jonas is apparently no longer an effective means of getting official responses to members' concerns.
So will no one from mass drop confirm that this is actually white steel now?
I’ve literally been holding off ordering one until massdrop confirms that this is the case and theyre not simply failing to update the description.
So a year later is this still a Blue Steel Higonokami advertised as a White steel, or will we actually get a White steel version?
Would be nice to know for sure.
It's hard to see in those low res pics, and they aren't always stamped so cleanly
Here's a closeup of the one I have that matches the one pictured here, it's the first symbol at the top
search
Compare to pic 4 here, it looks like their stamp on the sample piece was struck unevenly and is light on the right side
Tenacious-CAbsolutely agreed 👍
But...
A) at least this makes it back into a deal that makes it not worth returning (unless people want to stand in principle)
B) I'm very glad to see that the resolution is something that got applied to all purchases, whether or not everybody complained..... Since many people would've never noticed
C) I'm glad that this really hit them in the wallet this time. Not to be petty and vindictive, but because hopefully this will finally get them to get this straight BEFORE the drop next time
I just remembered, the comments below from previous drops said they went for about $55 before!
Did people get seriously ripped off on the last drops (more than in this one)? Or did they just screw us on this one?
I'm shocked no one from a previous drop ever came back to the comments to say what they got wasn't what was advertised if this is the same thing that was shipped before?!
Since these are clearly not as advertised, and comments and reviews are not a reliable way to get the attention of anyone who works here, I've submitted my complaint directly to support. Using the contact support button on the transactions page and selecting product arrived not as expected. In addition to my verbal complaints I included a picture of the blade with the translation of the Blue Steel characters.
I HIGHLY recommend everyone else who bought this does the same, whether you want to return them or plan to keep them.
They're obviously not going to change this practice unless enough people point out how wrong it is to falsely advertise these knives.
I guess we should just be glad we didn't pay this price for an SK version at least 🙄
