Made in Japan’s cutlery capital, Seki City, the HIRO Kaioh Nordic Hunter is equal parts craftsmanship and utility. With a thick, 4.25-inch blade made from VG-10 stainless steel—a high-carbon-content steel known for its edge retention—this fixed blade excels in slicing and piercing tasks. It’s V-ground, semi drop-point shape features an ever-so-slight recurve and a wide bevel, which is good for chopping.

The handle is made from oiled birch wood with tubular brass rivets. Its ergonomic curves create a natural placement for the hand, while jimping on the blade’s spine provides added control for tasks that require more precision. Its full-tang construction extends just past the butt of the handle, so you won’t damage the wood when hammering. Slip the knife into the included leather sheath when not in use.
