Does anyone know what the off axis response is like? Also, are they passive crossovers inside or biamped?

DanielJSThe MkII is passively crossed, the MkIII is actively bi-amplified with one amp for each driver. Both use the highly regarded LM3886 monolithic Class A/B audio amplifier. Dispersion is consistent with constant-power design.

JonLaneSo the MkII uses the same amp, but is rated at 35 watts per speaker, while the MkIII is rated at 50 watts per speaker. I'm assuming this is because the MkII's single amp needs to power both speakers. Any word on DIY boosting the amperage of the MkIII? Since it appears that this amp is capable of driving at least 70 watts, and the MkIII has one per speaker.

MassdropTakeMyMoneyBoth models use the amps to within about 90% of theoretical max power. To add power, you'd have to redesign the power supply, probably replacing the transformer. It alone is a $40+ component out on the parts market. Even this would net about 10W max watts just for the woofers. Virtually inaudible.
There's no good way to add power to either, especially since they, like the typical 5.25" monitor system, really don't need it.
