IJustDroppedThatI own the mini only. Its tempting to get this one too. I do think that the mini is a great knife. Very good build quality. Wish it came with a deep carry clip, but you can get those from Benchmade for free(ordered some, going to see if they're compatible).
IJustDroppedThatJust a note to say that these Benchmade "ahem" folders are fantastic knives. I've had the full size AFCK with the D2 blade and G10 scales (lost when I set it down in the woods after using it to cut a whitetail's throat) and I currently use a Mini with the axis lock (not AFCK). The full size knife can tackle nearly any of the jobs you want in the field, but can occasionally be awkward for in the pocket for everyday because the length can cause it to poke you when you are moving around. Also, the weight is enough that you'll be aware its there, but its never uncomfortably heavy. The Mini is perfect for nearly all everyday activities from opening mail to cutting lines to, in a pinch, skinning (drop-point) and it fits in the pocket just great. I was in the Tanto drop, to replace that AFCK I lost a few years ago, but the Mini has served me well for several years.
Victor2001I'm curious if the minis are just as wide and thick as the full size?
I bought the full size, myself, because the proportions made it look like the mini might be a little too stout feeling for my taste.
Well, even the full size feels stout, so I imagine the mini must be a chunky feeling little knife.
