Anyone have any experience sharpening d2 steel ?I wanna buy this knife but im not sure if d2 is easy to sharpen

Gonzzzo81IMO, it's not as bad as some of the modern powdered metal supersteels, but it's not easy to sharpen per se. Really need diamond hones or a fair amount of patience, and I find it performs better for me if left with a coarse finish rather than full polish (which, again, is a good fit with diamond hones). That said, I like D2 steel a lot for utility applications like cutting cardboard. Key is just not to let it get truly dull, as it's much easier to maintain than to resharpen fully.

Gonzzzo81I would agree with pedarius, the key is to keep it sharp with a strop and you may not need to take it to a stone for a long while. The good news is that even if it does dull, benchmade will sharpen and mail the knife back for free.
