QuintessentialNo. Once you get the hang of the axis lock, assisted blades will seem slow. Axis blades are easy and fast to open and close in a variety of ways with minimal change in grip. Best lock out there, in my opinion. Assisted blades are fun to play with but typically slower to open than a solid thumb flick on a spydie hole or well designed thumb stud. Assisted blades are also much slower to close due to the resistance from resetting the spring.
Quintessentialonce you are used to the axis lock, spring assisted knife will be a distant thing in the past.
There is no need for spring assistance when you can open most Axis lock faster with minimal change in grip.
It also provide zero to none resistance when you need to close the knife unlike spring assisted ones.. which is perfect for one hand operation.
