CanadianKiwiyea what kind of steel is your flea market one made of? you get what you pay for and thats especially true when it comes to knives. the cheapest someone should spend on a knife is around $20 its very rare to find a knife thats under $10 that has decent steel. you shouldnt use a steel cheaper than 8cr13mov in my opinion, any cheaper steel is very hard to shapen since its too soft and the edge rolls when you try and sharpen it, if you are somehow able to get a usuable edge it will be gone in no time. I used to buy flea market knives but i wont anymore, once you use a high end knife you understand why people are willing to pay what they do. i have some folders that are over $200 and they are worth every penny! you dont need to spend that much to get a good knife. a $30 crkt in AUS8 is a huge improvement over the low-carbon steel flea market knives. that being said i do love my Zero Tolerance knives, they are just works of art....and are built like a tank. so its basically an artsy-tank (i would name a knife that if i ever started my own knife company. :-) "The Artsy-Tank" )
