This thing is neither hated nor loved. It's just ignored. I feel bad for it.

spas787It will always be a mix of people who either think it works fine, or people who just don't know that these devices can only emulate mouse input. Without backend input support, 1:1 mouse input will never be a reality on consoles. Hopefully Xbox one day pulls through on its promises.

CyphreHaving been gaming since long before the first console system, it just kills me to have to use the game pads. I'm not even sure how it was ever conceived as the standard. Maybe I just really suck using it. :) My kids have had every console from XBOX and Playstation but I rarely play anything FPS due to the controllers.

itsmep0rkI've been using a XIM4 and it's pretty serviceable once you tweak your settings per game. At the end of the day, there really aren't any amazing console exclusives anyway, so all is well. It would just be nice for there to be support, despite opposition from people who want to feel like they're good at an FPS using analog sticks.

CyphreThanks I'll look into it. The kids play them and the cost for a good gaming computer is up there. I've always built my own, but i'm getting old :) You're right though there aren't many exclusives, which is great. I have a pretty good ASUS laptop that runs a GTX980m. i know it will never get desktop performance but I can play most everything at a high setting and still get 60fps at 1920x1080. So i'm content with playing games on it. The kids dont get to touch it though.

itsmep0rkOh god, when I have kids, they will most definitely not be touching my personal rig. They'll be working their way to better hardware.

CyphreYou say that now... Recently I caught my 2yo just tapping away on my AMJ40 with Gateron greens, a huge smile on his face... I was so proud.
