No shipping to Canada?
Wouldn't you have to have the option for left-hand facing labels instead of only right-handed ones?

Not for this drop unfortunately, but send us an email and we can get a custom one into production through our site!
Looks like Massdrop rides again with the massive price savings.
$85 at urban outfitters for the same 6 piece set.

Urban Outfitters current sale price has no relationship to the actual cost of goods in this situation. A large retailer like UO is big enough to reduce inventory of 3 units, even if it is at a significant loss to them.

Apologies for the misunderstanding - I wasn't commenting on value, simply stating that there was a better price for the same item elsewhere.
These are really nice, and I do have a set on the way. It's quite common for price comparisons to be posted here. In the end, this is a consumer driven site.
Hey everyone, I'm the designer of these products. I started this collection in 2013 because there wasn't anything on the market for organizing our home vinyl collection that was well made and had the aesthetic value we wanted to highlight in our home. Our collection is in our living room, and I wanted to design something that would be beautiful and make it easier to find albums, and allow us to spend more time listening and enjoying the music we've collected.
Since the beginning, it has been very important to me to create products that will last-- this isn't something you need to replace or update. We are a very small team, and we work very hard to create a quality, handcrafted product. All of our products are made locally, with a high grade European birch wood. We keep a small inventory because our products are time and labor intensive to produce. I absolutely understand, these products are not right for every collector. The pleasure of collecting is personal and different for everyone!
Hi all,
I've asked Kate, the designer of this product, to stop by and answer some questions. However, based on the route this discussion has taken so far I'm asking that you please be respectful regardless of how you personally feel about this drop.
I will step in to moderate comments that are inappropriate although I would prefer not to.
Thanks everyone.
Will this wood improve my sex life?
Thank you for the laugh massdrop!
The answer to all of the questions are 4 words for the price. Made in San Francisco. You think life is cheap? Other guess is the low production run, reminds me of the price curve that only a few of us learned in school apparently. If I had a very large and expensive collection, I'd might have gone for it personally, collectors taste and all.
You're all missing the point. Audiophiles don't care about money. Right?
Saw these, was ready to jump on them, then I saw the price. Too rich for my blood!
3d print them? then you get choice of colour and typeface etc....
*Scratches head*. Yeah, I got nothing. I am curious as to the rational behind the pricing structure of this item. Without more product information $250 for 26 planks of woods seems a little excessive.
EDIT: I redacted my original comment to keep the peace as it was probably too snarky.
Plastic dividers - same that were in all the record stores I frequented as a youth is <$30 for 26. Granted these may be nicer initially ( not sure about susceptibility to warping & cracking). I'd give it a go for about half the max drop - for me anyway.

Kate, first of all, thank you very much for your elaborations. So does the wood remain in its 'naked' state then? Or are there are stains, sealants, or other treatments in the process? Also can you confirm where these are made? In San Francisco where the design studio is based or somewhere outside? Thanks.

Hi there, yes, we are based in SF, and all of our design AND production takes place in the city as well. The wood is natural and unfinished because sealants and stains deteriorate over time, which would eventually lead to damage to albums. We chose to leave our panels natural, so there is no risk of chemical breakdown or leaching, which would destroy albums. This deterioration process takes years, but not worth the risk to collections!
don't see the value
Nevermind. The CD dividers are $260!!!!!! Uh, NO.
Do they make these for CDs?
I have these, and I agree that they are pricey - but they're awesome. Honestly, most other dividers look cheap or cheesy.
I was interested in a product like this for about $30-50. Then I saw the "sale" price and realized I was going to save money by not buying this. Lunch is on me!
I don't have a laser cutter, but I'm good with router jigs. Seems I'm in the wrong business if they get $21 each.
Ouch. That price is horrendous. Still, I'd love something like this at a lower cost. I may even get more sets for my video game collection.
Wood you please tell me how 6 planks of board is 150 bucks? I just can't be'leaf it.

And 26 planks is almost 300? The math isn't adding up on their prices, I'd understand the price for the full set if the price for 6 scaled down to roughly $80 even.
At least for the Omega it's one curved piece of wood with a beautiful stain. It takes a fair amount of work to curve it like that, and you need the right wood. This just seems to be a laser cut plank. Nice looking, but not $115 nice looking.
Oh well, everyone has different tastes.
