HA! Trying to sell a TN panel at IPS prices? Nice try, HP. You can get the exact same Dell version of this for around $500 most of the time. Less if you buy refurbished. Stay away from this hot pile of garbage.

alexmetalBut but .. there some people who'd prefer TN over IPS I mean, the 1ms response time,2k, with g-sync and 165HZ does look quite appealing for me.. of course the price is quite a-bit, but personally I think I might prefer TN for the faster response time over IPS..
Other than that, can you give a link of other monitors you recommend that has the same specs this one got? (165hz, 2k,1ms, 27",g-sync)

NaorFYeah TN is all well and good for people that want the extra 4ms response time over IPS. My problem isn't with this being TN, my problem is with this being TN and priced like IPS. The Dell doesn't do 165hz, only 144hz as other comments have stated, but.... I REALLY don't think that's worth paying an extra $100 to get 11 more cycles.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BcTrxr/dell-monitor-s2716dg - Dell also recently had it on sale for less than $400 directly from them, so with the holiday shopping season coming up, I'd expect you should see it dip close to that price again in the next 2-3 months.

moenadI don't know pal, one difference I noticed is that its 144hz and not 165hz, but okay leaving that the price right now is - 519$ and with shipping, its going up to 762.52$. As for this deal with shipping etc' it ends up in 714.24$.
Perhaps if it will go down to 380$ it will be better deal, but as for now this one doesn't seem so bad I guess.

alexmetalYeah hopefully, it just this deal on massdrop surprises me, kinda the first time there is actually a monitor shipping world-wide (or at least to Israel, for me). Besides that, the price at the local shops here for this product is around 2times the price here.

NaorFYeah VAT and international shipping stuff could make that a little restrictive for you. In that case, go with whatever is cheaper for you after all of that. They're both essentially the same monitor, except the Dell doesn't overclock to 165hz. For reference, my 165hz bmiprz has not yet utilized that 165hz with G-Sync, but I also don't have a crazy i9 or anything or SLI.
But I would watch the Dell- it does go on sale quite often.

NaorFI see. If you're not in a hurry, there should be better deals around November (black friday).
International shipping for the monitor you saw is actually very high, may I know which site? If you want, check bhphotovideo.com they ship worldwide and shipping a 27" monitor should cost you around $100 .
I bought few months ago a 27" 4k USB-C monitor from Massdrop for my macbook pro. I paid $65 for shipping, on the other hand this one shows up for $100, which is quite high.

NYalexNever actually said those words. My issue with this "deal" is that it's the same price as IPS panels. You can get TN panel monitors for $100-200 less than this, with 1440p, G-Sync, and 144hz. IPS vs. TN is personal preference, I'm not here to debate one or the other, just that if you're going to buy a TN panel, I wouldn't buy this one because it's overpriced compared to the competition.

alexmetalyou edited your original post. but you did mention a "CRAPPY TN PANEL".
mainstream TN panels do suck, but this AU optronics panel used on these gsync displays are actually pretty damn good.
i owned a pg278q from day 1. and i also have an acer predator ips gsync as well.
the TN panel actually feels much better when gaming. And gaming is the main point of GSYNC, so image quality does not matter 1 bit when gaming. And if it did, i never noticed.
Now photo editing, or any other content creation, yes ips is vastly superior in color accuracy, brightness, contrast and viewing angles.
but again, gsync monitors are marketed towards gamers, not content creators. so color accuracy does not matter 1 bit. viewing angles? who tha fuck games while looking at his/her monitor at an angle? again, does not matter 1 bit.
but if your argument was that this TN panel is vastly overpriced considering the fact that it is priced too close to them, yes we can both agree on that. The dell gsync is a much better option for the same panel.

NYalexI think you owe me an apology, bud. The comment directly above mine states "crappy TN pannel", I never said that. My edit was for the price on the Dell, I originally put "about $400", but that is what you can get it for on sale, not normally.
