ashayneI bought mine about a month ago from Amazon, and I haven’t experienced any of these issues people are talking about. I hadn’t even read about these problems before seeing these comments. There was a video reviewer a year ago that had several issues, and then his panel finally died. He made an updated video after this and HP sent him a replacement, and it was basically a redesigned Omen. I don’t remember his name, but the videos are still up. I watched them just prior to my purchase. None of the issues present on his first model were on the new one. Mine is also the same as his new version, so I’m assuming what people are talking about is specific to the older version of this monitor. I’ve got a 1080Ti and it’s been amazing to play on.
collin.coxAre you referring to this video: https://youtu.be/JiItTsTIg9Q ?
I see they sent him a new one, but nothing to imply "basically a redesigned Omen"
BrendanVosYeah that’s the one. His original video listed a number of issues, and his replacement had none of them. I asked him a question in the comments about it to make certain. The first run of these have an Nvidia g-sync sticker on the bezel, and when peeled off they take some of the paint with it. The newer run is identifiable by the painted Nvidia logo which is non removable. They may not be “completely redesigned“, but there have obviously been changes made to the manufacture and the end result is a better monitor. From what I’ve seen and read no one that owns the newer models has had any of the old issues.
