Got mine a year ago for 759 from a different retailer. Absolutely amazing for gaming. I don’t play Fast FPS games, RPGs are in my domain , and they look gorgeous.
Otherwise for Media consumption, videos, movies and others it’s not good at all. Color bending, halos in dark , bleeds , the whole nine yards of bad..
I have Dell 27 144hz va panel with G-SYNC.. using it for all media stuff.. night and day compared to Omen.
Well, I received mine yesterday and the display is defective (random intermittent flashing lines and ghosting windows). HP support tells me they no longer carry stock of this monitor and therefore are not able to replace it. What a disappointment... :(
BitpimpsIt's literally for gaming... No one is going to care THAT much whether it is DCI-P3 or Rec 2020... 100% SRGB is defiantly acceptable for gaming monitors like this.
This is a great gaming monitor. If you however, want a monitor for media consumption, keep in mind it has a lot of vertical banding and halo effect on dark areas around bright zones of your images ( it having an AU Optronics VA panel and all) . Barely noticeable while gaming, but quite obvious while watching movies under 2K. If you are a gamer and want to game on it, game on, you should, because it is an amazing monitor with no tearing at all while using G-Sync. I am loving mine, which I bought somewhere else.
Just checked the full specs of both this monitor and the monoprice mp 35" zero-g... BOTH use the same panel... panel AOU M350QVR01.1. Yes, this one has G-Sync (additional module) and both should be able to be overclocked to 120hz. The monoprice can be had for around $450-$499 so this one being only $200 more is a good deal factoring in G-Sync and I'm sure much tighter and better quality controls.
