Just received this today... The 512GB drive, is split into two partitions, a 79.9GB OS volume and 396GB Data Volume. Problem is, it's not the 3.1 GHz turbo M7 processor inside that MD advertised. It's the slower 1.1Ghz M5-6Y54 processor inside.
agamotoSame, I received the slower m5 CPU.
Though, everywhere else I found this tablet it was being sold with the m5.
Microsoft has this version priced at $899, with the m5 and 512GB SSD.
The partition layout is (L-R):
100MB EFI
80GB Windows C:
490MB Recovery
396GB Data D:
So while you could delete the Recovery and Data partitions and extend C:, I wouldn't unless you can take an image backup of the disk.
tsengaiI'm thinking everyone got an m5, and the description of an m7 was a misprint.
There are versions listed as having m7's, but their prices exceed $1700.
Microsoft only offers the m5 version.
GiulianoMI would not have joined the drop for an M5. On paper, there's very little difference between the processors, but the M7 does have 400MHz of extra processing headroom when it needs it. I checked out reviews prior to joining, it was the M7 that clinched it for me. I've yet to hear back about what the plan is. I imagine someone's in a tough spot right about now.
agamotoYea same. Only joined the drop cause it said it had the m7. And it seems that support doesn't work on the weekends cause the last response I got from them was Friday. So I guess we're waiting till at least tomorrow to hear what's gonna happen.

I'm still contemplating whether to return, though.
