Lighter and easier to carry than hard bottles, the Hydrapak 1L Stash bottle weighs 3.3 ounces and collapses to the size of a hockey puck. The 2.5-inch mouth makes it easy to fill, while the flexible loop is convenient to hold on to or attach to a pack Read More
Love these things for their compact size when packed up and very generous capacity. Less clunky than some other collapsible water bottles. Definitely recommend trying to let them dry out before compressing back to small size when possible and stick with water only, as cleaning can be a bit of a pain.
Years later and still going strong. Great for trips and easy to pack and keep clean. Never have had any taste issues.
whether full or empty, these don't really stand up on their own like you might expect from the picture, but they work well and are wonderfully portable for your potables.
I like it a lot, it mostly replaced my regular Nalgene. Stash ability is great, size is the same as Nalgene. Care need to be taken when drinking directly from the bottle as it is easy to spill. I have to take away one star for the taste - it has specific plastic / chemical taste which I hope will go away with time. I have similar issues with Hydrapak bladders.
I have used the bottle 3 times so far. I like it because it has a good capacity, and is easy to tuck away after drinking it's contents. I usually go on day hikes and carry close to 6 liters in the summer - 3L in a bladder and 2 more 1.5L bottles. The Stash give me another optional liter which I use in the early stage of my hike and when I'm finished I simply fold it up and store in my backpack. It's pretty easy to drink from and to suport once you get the hang of it. I like the wide mouth, since it enables the bottle to double also as a dry storage container for GORP or any other consumables.
The folding up is a bit tricky and should be done in a twisting motion. It takes a little bit of fidgeting to snap it close. Finally there's the water taste issue that has been mentioned in many review. I admit there is a slight rubbery taste, but it's not very strong and I don't find it that disturbing as to be a deal breaker.
Great bottle to use where you are required to have a bear canister. I use this for making flavored drinks while backpacking and I can collapse it and easily put it in my bear canister and not worry about bears or other critters chewing on it.
I do add one of those silicone mouth piece inserts to make it easier to drink from. The wide mouth is great for adding powder mixes but it tends to spill when drinking. The insert fixes this issue.
I got two of these and yes they were not the easest to figure out how to open! I'd suggest better instruction on how to open them. Other than that Love them. Very easy to fly with they take almost zero room . fit realy nice open in the outer mesh pocket of my camear bag.
