Has anyone here tasted the water from one of these? Does it takes clean like water from a Platypus, or does it add a frightening chemical flavor like a Camelbak bladder?
miles.ericksonI've used a number of HydraPak bladders and bottles over the last 5 years & noticed no taste at all from their products. The great thing about their bladders is the ability to turn them inside out after use and allow them to dry completely. Other users prefer to store their bladders in the freezer to prevent mold from building up when not in use (especially effective if you're using a sport drink and don't rinse your drinking tube clean).
I have this in the 2liter and found it to be a good solid product. The sliding clip does need to be lubricated occasionally or it gets kind of tough to move and I did pop the retaining bungee off when I had to pull kind of hard. It's redoable.. The removable tube is nice since you can unclip the hose and refill the bag without having to remove the hose from your pack. The material stained from the water I had to use for the week hiking and climbing in the Goblin State Park area but it's cosmetic only. Enjoy
