Hello everyone,
I am incredibly sorry for all of the delays and lack of communication experienced during this drop. I will proceed to outline a few of the various problems we have experienced over the last couple months but I want everyone to know that I am not providing excuses and I take 100% responsibility for the lack of communication and transparency during this drop.
For those of you who do not care here is the TLDR: - Every customer will receive a 15% rebate off their entire order price, this includes shipping prices and equates to a 28% loss debited directly from Massdrop’s payment to I&S (We have not been paid yet because the fulfillment is not complete) - We understand this will not fully compensate or satisfy some customers and are sorry to have disappointed you.
Overview of delays:
1. We started this drop before knowing we would be moving at the end of September. We knew our lease was up at the end of September however we were planning on going month to month until after the holidays as these are of course the busiest times of the year. After the drop ended our landlord notified us they would need us out by the 1st week of October because they had found a renter.
2. Proceed scramble to find a suitable location, after a couple locations fell through we finally found a place in a nice part of Columbus (Clintonville) that was occupied by a used car lot. Obviously we fell in love with it and were told we could move in sept 1st. Problem being there were 3 tenants in the 1 building, the used car dealership and two separate mechanics who worked out of their garage/warehouse. And they would be moving out in stages.
3. Mid-September I receive the equipment needed to create the wrist rests in a safe and efficient manner, problem being we are in the middle of renovating the office/retail space of the new location and cannot set up the equipment or production because half our tools are at the new place.
4. Come the end of September we are close enough to done with the renovations and are prepared to start moving the warehouse. Next problem is the last tenant in the garage is not out on time and has a ton of crap lying around. Proceed to Oct 3rd and the landlord decides to trash him out which you can imagine was freaking crazy and a horrible experience.
5. The new warehouse is finally empty and we can begin moving our 16,000 square foot warehouse into our new 4,500 square foot combined building, horray for downsizing. Now this whole process was done by 4 people the only person who was badass enough to drive the giant semi sized truck was me of course =) so it takes us almost 2 weeks to move and organize everything as there was literally no space to put anything. We purchased 3 40ft shipping containers for long term storage in our lot and an additional 10-30ft storage shed. This whole time crap was just piling up in the new space and the only person who could run electric to plug in our machinery was me and I couldn’t because I was stuck driving a giant truck around all day.
6. Now it is oct 14th and our warehouse manager’s wife has their baby so he is out for the next week, Welcome to the world Maven!!
7. Oct 15-24 I am finally able to start running electrical and our space is organized enough to set the equipment up. Obviously the building was built in the 40’s and in 2 separate stages so the electrical was super fun to figure out but it is “mostly” done now.
8. Take into account that I had to get literally everything set up for the screen printing, laser, woodworking, office space with only the help of my other partner and you can begin to see where the time has gone. We have been working 12-14 hour days for 7 days a week the past 2 months trying to get everything back to normal but we still have a long ways to go. Thankfully we are now in a good enough position to start a somewhat normal production day
Anyway if anyone read that hopefully that gives a little transparency to the situation, once again I am very sorry to have let everyone down and can say I have learned a lot from this experience. If anyone has any other questions or concerns I would be happy to address them.
As of now I am working on the wrist rests and shouldn’t have anything come up unless our cat dies thanks to @FrankMc's jinx. =P

InkedandScreened-SupportThank you for the partial refund, but personally, I am happy so long as my wrist rest comes in eventually in perfect condition. I understand that shit happens, and I will continue to support your products whenever I see them on MD.

InkedandScreened-Supportawesome, glad to hear. Also, with the rebates, do we have to ask for one or are we getting it automatically? and do you know how we'll be receiving them? Credit for massdrop or maybe just refunds issued to the card used for the payment?
Oct 26, 2016
swirle13As far as I know massdrop should be applying them automatically to the cards used to purchase
