Would love to see a minimalist version of this shirt where it ditches the pockets and back vents to pass as a dress shirt and a hiking/whatever else shirt. Exofficio do the same thing with all the pockets so I guess there's a market for it, a less is more option in this awesome merino fabric would be great though. Still a nice shirt.

brett_anthonyI completely agree with you. That is exactly what I have needed for years. I wish they would Eliminate the front pockets or at least the "technical" zippers and eliminate the vented back. I travel frequently and would love to have a tough, lightweight, easy care shirt that I can wear for 36 hours on planes/trains/taxis and use for my outdoor pursuits, plus it could pass for a quick business meeting or more formal evening event. Thus far, I have not found one, and I own all the usual suspects from Ex Officio, Travelsmith and others. Crowd sourcing anyone?
ReachCheck out Wool & Prince's lines of merino wool shirts. Haven't pull the trigger yet myself because 1. they look a little too classy for the trail 2. there neck sizes, like most, are too small for me.

northwardThanks for the tip! I will order one of those to try it out, but I agree with you. The neck is small and they are full dress look. I wish, at least, they had a straight (flat) bottom hem so I could wear it un-tucked when hiking/relaxing. I also wonder about the durability factor if used for outdoor endeavors. That being said, for city or business travel, those look quite good. Thanks again.

Reach@Reach: Take a look at their "Retiring" line. Those shirts have flat hem, and look a little more relaxed. Depends on how formal you need to be regarding office wear.
