received mine today, a screw fell out of somewhere and the micro usb port was not attached to the board properly. It pressed back inside the board and is now stuck. QC not so good on this board.

ThisgameissorealOrdered one from Amazon and it arrived today. Same issue with the USB port, so apparently they haven't addressed it. I love the heft of the board so I'm going to give it one more go.

CotayI loved how hefty it was also but I don't think I'll try again, especially after hearing yours was broken as well.

ThisgameissorealYeah, I completely understand. I originally ordered the black version since they were out of the silver. The silver was just restocked so I wonder if the latest batch of silvers might have a better chance of having proper quality control. Decisions, decisions.

ThisgameissorealMy second board came today and it has the same problem as the first board. These are obviously not getting proper Quality Control for cold solder joints. What a shame that a nice board is let down by shoddy workmanship.

Cotayunfortunate. yeah I wish there was a board with similar heft that would actually work. I really liked how heavy it was.

ThisgameissorealThe USB port isn't attached to the circuit board -- it's a plastic socket that is screwed to the inside of the case with two small metal screws and washers. The port on my MF-87 was cracked around the screw holes. My guess that it's because of the combination of a too-small screw head with a very thin washer that deforms over time, and that the sockets are cracking after the board is shipped.
On my board, the socket was still secure, but it was missing a piece inside the socket and I got a replacement. I was more gentle in attaching the new socket and it's holding up so far.

JaybzeeThat's good info! Where did you get the replacement socket? Any chance you took pictures of the repair?

CotayThe manual mentioned a warranty, but it seemed excessive to RMA for such a tiny thing. I wrote to IKBC and asked for the socket, which I received in the mail about three weeks later. My contact thanked me for being willing to do the repair myself.
The socket lead attaches to the board assembly via a plug and socket. I didn't think to take photos, but it's a fairly easy fix -- about 10 minutes with the right tools. Be careful with the hex screws in the backplate -- I nearly stripped one with the "proper" hex bit. I switched to Torx and had no further issues.

JaybzeeThanks! Did they ship the socket free of charge? I wonder if there is some way to reinforce the socket when knew. Maybe some epoxy on the screw heads or a larger washer.

CotayYes, they treated it as a warranty repair. No charge for the part (declared value $1) or shipping. Gotta be cheaper than an RMA.

JaybzeeThanks again! Both of my RMA'd boards are back with iKBC and I'm waiting for the $340 charged on my CC to be refunded. It would have been much less of a hassle to just get the socket. I think I'll order one more and then deal with iKBC as you did if there are further issues. I really want this board!
