You get 2 configurations - SB (very aggressive) and OC (Medium aggressive).
The blade holding and alignment design uses something like a solid bar on each end of the slot in the blade and works flawlessly.
Also works with the OSS base plate which can be purchased on icon's website when available (check for blems).
The SB configuration requires a very steady hand and good technique so I do not recommend this for people new to this type of shaving.
I was initially concerned about the coating getting scratched or chipped or peeling or what ever but after several months I'm confident it is there to stay. Very tough stuff!.

You made it happen! We’re excited to let you all know that the drop was successful and the order has now been placed with the vendor for the iKon Razor and Base Plate Bundle. As soon as they are done preparing the shipment and once we receive it at our warehouse in New Jersey we will break it down into individual orders and have them on their way to each of you! NorrisBWhile the Feather is wonderful, iKon is better. Feather only offers a single base plate that is very mild, almost seems like it is designed for a Japanese woman to shave her legs with. This iKon offers more shaving versatility as do many of the other iKon designs that have appeared on Massdrop, in fact you can use the iKon base plates with the Feather to make it a more efficient shaver, these are razors designed it seems for wet shavers in mind.

mastershakeMy understanding is 1 Open Comb Base Plate and 1 Closed Base Plate. So 2 different heads pieces instead of one.

I got the last Ikon drop with the 2 different heads and love the razor. Getting this one with base.

NightManThe razors have aligned Perfectly each time and No adjustment at all. They have a longer rectangle slots (2) that goes into the razor and seems to secure tightly as apposed to the circle slots on most razor heads.
