The newest offering from iKon, the X3 Slant DE safety razor is tough on coarse beards but easy on sensitive skin. It’s made of machined aluminum and based on an early-1900s design that mimics the efficiency of a guillotine—talk about a close shave! Read More
I got my Slant yesterday and tried it out! This is the smoothest razor I have ever shaved with while leaving my face super smooth!
It does have a narrow angle of shaving and I wish the head was made of ss. Other than that I am really happy with this razor.
Well, I decided to join this drop and give this razar a try. I hope it works out. I'm not sure about an aluminium head with a ss handle. I would have liked to see a ss head.
Btw, does anyone know where this is made?
This is one of my favorite purchases ever. Getting away from all those ridiculous 4,5,6,7 bladed monstrosities that made me breakout and caused horrible razor burn has been amazing.
I switch out the blade after two uses maximum (could probably get away with 3-4 depending on how much surface area you're covering).
Couldn't be happier. This is how shaving should be.
Got the razor last night and had to try it. I purposefully did the worst stuff. Several day growth, no shower, no beard softening, no shaving cream, warm, not hot, water, only cremo.
Two pass and buff on the spots on my neck where the hair grows in different directions. I'm impressed. This razor is really good.
AndreyHad a smooth shave, given that I rarely ever shaved before due to my sensitive skin (before I used to use gillete mach3, fusion and all made my skin break out and flare up). So to my suprise, using Ikon #102 slant razor and only noticing slight redness around neck (where the hair grows in all different direction), I gave Ikon #102 slant razor a passing marks. BTW, I paired #102 slanted razor with feather Hi-stainless blades since that drop had Super-Max blades (Good job Ikon on offering better blades this time).
First time buying a quality DE , only used to have a chinese one that was super light weight and wasn't so good. So why would I choose this over the Rockwell 6C Razor at the same price point?
The thing that might be to watch for - the stainless handle and the aluminum head - dissimilar metals. There may be a reaction so it is probably best to store the head and the handle "disconnected" to avoid corrosion of the aluminum.
I have the stainless Feather and the Closed comb stainless Blackbird. Both are outstanding. Both need different techniques. The Blackbird needs a tiny bit more care and needs more frequent blade changes and is more sensitive to the shaving cream. Since I started using Cremo menthol it gives closer shaves than the Feather. It also has a heavier head so you can let its weight literally do the shaving for you, it looks very cool and is more enjoyable to use. The Feather is less sensitive to other parameters so its the easiest to use, but I prefer the Blackbird and will be putting the Feather up for sale. I am interested to see how the slant bar Ikon X3 shaves. It has outstanding reviews and comes out better than the Above the Tie Slant. My only worries are :1. The aluminium head which will be light so perhaps I will miss the weight of stainless steel -others have noted this- and 2. Aluminium is a toxic metal and shaving with it right on raw skin may not be the best idea.
Thank you! Too unisex for me, but it's all a sign of ridiculous political correctness where it's increasingly difficult to find masculine smelling one. What do you expect in a society which removed Robert E Lee's statue and wants to do the same to Nelson's column?
