There's some question on durability from

but regardless I'm still tempted. Doesn't charge via contacts, there are 2 plastic screws to act as filler so the flashlight doesn't rattle in the case.

stevecnyGreat video. It seems like they are just trying to do too much for the price (even cheaper here: http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_235391.html) and have made something that looks good on paper, but cuts some major corners when it comes to both materials and design. I'd gladly pay 2-3x more for something that was properly designed and constructed, but this looks to be nothing more than a tacti-toy for the shopping center spec-ops crowd.

stevecnyI neglected to watch the video. The charger is one of the most innovative flashlight designs I have seen. I also believe it's charged via micro USB correct? That would give it lots of potential for solar setups- so as an all in one grab and go - the concept is great.
but....
Water resistance was the first thing I thought of. I don't see an seals specifically for where the 18650 fits inside the charger although the button appears to be water resistance so there may be a seal somewhere Im not noticing. Rain + Li-on = Jack has no fun. That said, the USB cover on the light itself looks less than stable in maintaining a seal. Getting a micro USB port itself wet isn't necessarily a light killer if there is potting behind it but it's less than ideal to get it repeatedly wet. Even without watching the video... I just don'e see how this will hold up to EDC duty let alone the durability required for the daily chaos of LEO. Too much bulk as well, they already have a lot on there duty belt already. If I had to run wafter a perp with the belts I see them wearing I would take a few steps and likely tip over. I like the idea for backpacking, but lacking both durability and water resistance ( Im assuming, perhaps thats not the best approach ) this one would be a no go.
I hope they stick with it and develop it further, or perhaps correct my incorrect observations of it.
Either way, VERY cool concept. I just don't see it lasting more than a few days of real use.
