I want one but ... there has to be something better for less? I am interested in something that is more for throw not for flood. Anyone? Turning sand into glass would be a cool feature but not a deal breaker.

theonugAcebeam has several Super Throwers reaching 1000-2400m in their W, K, and X lines. https://www.google.com/search?q=acebeam+thrower

theonugThose are No-Name generic Chinese manufacturers. The lumen claims are greatly exaggerated. At least Imalent is a "known quantity" among the flashlight collecting community.

You don't need special protective glasses but they do recommend SPF 55 or higher for all those in your group.

Stop about the zooming beam. If you could zoom this puppy you'd melt a hole through to another dimension.
Is "32,000 lumens" a typo? That's roughly 3x brighter than the sun's output per square foot.

MichaelHeartlessPer square foot of sun or what reaches a square foot of earth? Big difference!

32 K lumens. Not a chance. 3 minutes on turbo then your cloaca is cooked! This won't hold up a candle to my Astrolux MF01 18x XP-G3/Nichia 219C  which has the best CR of any LED available today.

BogarteIt actually holds that “32k” for nearly the 3 minutes then drop to the standard high setting. It’s definitely toasty during and after that three minutes

The Cree datasheet on those LEDs doesn't have a one that produces 2000 lumens, let alone 4000. That would be three minutes of hell for those chips! What am I missing?

It's definitely a flood type beam.

Anyone got one of these things? Can I cook an egg on it or what? I gots to know the real scoop? What does "built in battery pack" mean. Can or Cannot change or replace the batteries? Are they/it included? When will the 64,000 version be coming out? How many lumens does the sun put out? Why does Jimmy Crack corn when no one cares? I digress, digrass, byegrass, highgrass, I'm baked, lol. Is it worth it? How is Imalent's reputation as far as quality and durability? For that price and that many lumens, there has to be some downsides am I right? If I have offended anyone with this post, feel free to let me know. I don't care but feel free anyway.
So I looked around and this seems to be decent deal if you think you need daylight in your hand. What I saw on youtube says it's more of a flood then a beam. I'm passing on it. I got a wicked laser to burn little holes in paper and that depleted my "things that light up that are a waste of money" account.

theonugThe battery is a custom battery that is replaceable but cost $200+ dollars. You can change the battery within the flashlight via usb-c plug. So far durable for me. at lower lumens pure flood you get distance when you increase the lumen output. The max “32k” can only be sustained for about 3 minutes continuously. At three minutes the light will throttle back to the high setting. You can reinitiate 32k mode as long as the temp sensor inside doesn’t detect overheating.

I'm interested in this Giggle Monster but are they still available? Seems like a process to acquire one?
