Did anybody receive 2 left handed cases? I just got my order but I received 2 right handed cases.

ThorskandarYes, I have! But I'm guessing you can just flip one of them over and change the order of all the layers?

PatrikSevalliusOn my packaging slip it says there should be two MDX-7229-1 (which is what I got) so i'm hoping they shipped the correct thing and you only have to flip one of them over...

PatrikSevalliusCan the plate be flipped though? You can clearly see that the other side is not cut as smooth.

ThorskandarI have also received two right-handed cases. Is it different when flipped over?

Ir164I don't think it's as simple as flipping it around though I could be wrong. The plate on the other side is not smoothed out.

Ir164I contacted support and I'm waiting for a response right now. I think it would be a good idea to do so.

PatrikSevalliusSee my other comment, I don't think you can just flip it over because the plate is not smoothed over on the opposite end.

ThorskandarThe only difference i can see between the two plates is one side has rounded edges, but once put together that won't be visible. I was too anxious to get started so I've already built mine. It worked fine for me.

PatrikSevalliusNice, I'm glad to hear that it worked out for you. Any pics?

ThorskandarThank you. I will contact support too, but before that I will check every other detail (number of switches, caps, screws, ...) just in case there is more. Could you keep us informed if they reply to you first? We know PatrikSevallius has received two left-handed cases so there must still be one person left (at least) with two left-handed cases.
This might only be a small detail that does not prevent you from building and using the keyboard but it does matter when you take the whole price of the kit into account.

ThorskandarThis is the expected configuration. It's mildly irritating, because as you mentioned, one side is not smoothed quite the same, but the same plate is used for both sides. If you look at the build guide, this is the full component list, which, as you can see, lists 2 of each case component:
  • 2 Infinity ErgoDox PCBs
  • 2 Top Plate #1
  • 2 Top Plate #2
  • 2 Switch Plate
  • 2 Spacer Plate #1
  • 2 Spacer Plate #2
  • 2 Bottom Plate
  • 18 Posts with screws (hardware)
  • 1 3′ USB 3.0 Cable
  • 1 1′ USB 3.0 Cable
  • 1 2mm allen wrench

ThorskandarGiven the metal plates are sandwiched between the acrylic plates, the fact that one side is smooth while the other side isn't, doesn't really make a difference once it's closed up.

PatrikSevalliusThat is correct.

ThorskandarMay not be as smooth but I think it makes more sense for production purposes to simply make identical plates. Smoothness doesn't matter much anyway as it will be sandwiched between acrylic plates anyway

Hey all, I'm late to this thread. I have the same issue as OP (received two right-hand cases). Was this intentional? Vibe seems to be that it doesn't matter?
