Mechanical Keyboard Sound Isn't That Simple
Figure 1: I couldn't think of a more literal way to represent this article if I tried... Looking back just a few years ago, there’s no doubt that the huge influx of people that joined the hobby at the peak of the COVID pandemic were drawn to keyboards by way of YouTube, TikTok, and other audio-visual content platforms. Even as the output from these content creators has waned in recent months, their collective impact and legacy on the keyboard hobby is rather firmly etched in the history books. What is the differnence between the DCS and the DSA keycaps? As a person with no soldering experience, how difficult/easy will assembly be? Will this drop be featured again? if so will there be printed keycaps? will there be an aluminium case? will there be an option to buy it pre-assembled?
I'm curious about the aluminum case as well. I'd really like one.
I wouldn't count on there being printed caps offered as standard. I think these caps are the same ones offered on all the past ErgoDoxes. Most people who use the Dox use a non "standard" layout anyway, so it would be too hard to get everyone to agree. If you want printed caps, I would recommend getting the board without caps and picking up the granite drop that's going on right now. Keep in mind, you will need to combine a couple of different options in the drop to get a complete labeled set.
