So I plug them in and the right is recognized and typing just fine, but the left lights up...and none of the keys do anything. Ideas?

PandemosIf they are daisy chained together make sure you have the it plugged into a USB 3 port on your PC. I tried in a USB 2 port and the "slave" would light up but wouldn't type.

yfwillThe board isn't supposed to require a usb3 port is it?

yfwillHad it plugged into a USB 3.0 hub (have a few keebs in one hub), so could be the case it isn't having the perfect connection needed. I'll try direct and see when I get home. Also, contacted IC (quick response, as well) and they said Massdrop has shipped a few cables that--even though should be the right type--aren't up to specs. As an improper cable can brick a PCB, I'm ordering a pair of compliant cables from their trusted list on the IC site.

PandemosYup, it was the hub issue. Also, if anyone has an issue with "error 74" when trying to load the bin file, it's probably because of a space in the file path. Get rid of any spaces and that fixed that one for me. Typing on the ergo right now, admittedly at a slower pace than I'm used to, but it'll take a while to get used to it. Having fun relearning how to type with ortholinear, I could see where this could end up working out real well for repetitive strain.

ChitownM2After experimenting, to daisy chain, I think it does need 3.0 or 3.1 for that ability. But you can plug them in separately and it's all good, even if you're still on USB 2.0. None of my PC's use 1.1, so I couldn't advise on that.

PandemosWhere's this compliant cable list? My ergodox seems to be disconnecting if I move the daisy chain cable around too much, and I was previously having the one side not working problem. I think it may be the usb cables.

They list it when you get to cables, where Benson's list is linked:

Though, this is the actual cable IC used as the interconnect (daisy chain) when designing the ergodox infinite's latest iteration (so probably the best option...and it's inexpensive):

SQWIExcellent, enjoy! I'm typing this on my Ergodox right now. The cables are definitely a deciding factor for me. After playing around, it works on USB 2.1, 2.0 and 1.1...just prompts me how much better it would be at a faster rate. Oh, Windows, you're so cute!
