It's already after 5pm in New Jersey, and still no shipping notification. Did they go out today?

SYNTHESISEThis is ridiculous. They should've shipped friday. When will they understand that an update that says "We are still working with the warehouse manager to solve the shipping issues" instead of nothing is a million times better?
And the configurator :/ I might have to write my own, as I need to change some keys to write some special danish characters.

dumle29If you can write your own, then you shouldn't even need the configurator. My understanding is that you can just type up a layout in KLL and use that to program the board with some tool. I am pretty sure that tool is finished or mostly done (the boards have firmware on them, and if that firmware supports programming then the layout it is programmed with had to be made somehow). I can't remember if we were told that part is done so consider that speculation. I guess I am just less concerned than most people because if I need to I should be able to just write my own firmware. Also, as far as USB is concerned there are no dutch keys. The only international (relative to American English) keys I am aware of are the ones on a JIS keyboard for swapping character styles. International keys are something that the OS interprets based on the key codes it is sent. So to make those international keys you have to figure out which keycode the OS interprets as that key in your layout and put that in the configurator. There are more important things to be implemented right now than trying to put in conversions for all of the international characters people might want in all of the layouts they could be using.
I just remembered that the microcontroller they are using supports programming over usb, so it is completely possible that the tool for using KLL just converts the layout into code for a complete firmware, not uploading a layout to the firmware that is already there. That means that they could have flashed firmware that wasn't created with the tool while still having programmability.

SuperBobKingYou are absolutely correct, if you are able to use a command line, you can do literally whatever you want within the boundaries of the KLL, which you can learn about here - https://www.overleaf.com/read/zzqbdwqjfwwf
For those of us who can't compile, we do have the online configurator hosted here - https://www.massdrop.com/keyboard/infinity
It is in beta, and while we have numerous people testing it in the field, you may find a problem with the configurator. If it doesn't work after a few tries, please post here so we can look into solving it for you.
You will need to follow some steps outlined in the Build Guide before you can load your own layouts onto Infinity - https://www.massdrop.com/keyboard/infinity/assembly
I've followed these steps a dozen times and spent a lot of time testing these instructions to make sure that they work, but if something is amiss, please post in this discussion and either myself or Jacob (HaaTa), Gennadiy (Parak), or Brandon (OverKill) will be able to help.
I flashed every keyboard in this drop by hand with the following image (

), so you will be able to type as soon as you assemble it with no problems.

AndrewLekashmanOh nice! I'm perfectly at home on the command line, so that works just as well, thanks!
PS: Just got my shipping notice, hooray!

AndrewLekashmanThe build guide provides instructions for flashing a .bin, but not how or at least what tool to use to compile a KLL file into one. That is pretty important, especially without the configurator being fully functional.

SuperBobKingThe long programmer's readme to compiling kll files into bin files can be found here: https://github.com/kiibohd/controller The firmware itself has been working since the drop began back in October (though I've fixed bugs and added some features in the meantime).
I have tested compiling under Linux/Mac/Windows. You'll have the easiest time with Linux, then Mac. Windows is a pain, but doable.
If there is demand, I can provide a simple CLI Arch Linux VM (what I use to develop) that has all the tools needed.

HaaTaThanks HaaTa, Just an idea: instead of a VM it might be easier to share a Docker image.

blaisHmm, that's a neat idea. Though I don't have much experience with Docker images (yet), so it might take me a little bit.

felnI'm 170 and haven't rec'd a ship notice yet either. Although I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with your position in line. It's probably more to do with package size/options, etc.

I'm pretty sure you're right. I'm #28 in the drop and haven't gotten shipping information yet. I'm in NJ, too, so I figured mine should be easy to ship.
