Agree on the sapphire comment, but as I was seriously considering this drop I read the details which omitted any movement detail (Seagull?) and clearly said "Made in China." Then I re-read the first sentence of the description, and decided that the first paragraph is misleading. Now the country of origin on my Maratac Mid Pilot is painfully missing in ALL discussions and descriptions, but at least I know the movement's pedigree, so kudos for full disclosure on this drop. I'll pass on this pretty automatic...

kingpingFWIW, what they say about the company being one of the first American watch factories is true. Doesn't seem too misleading. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingersoll_Watch_Company

jamunI think the misleading part is that the current company is trying to make it seem like they are the same American company that was making watches in the USA 100 years ago. These watches are made by a Chinese company that purchased the naming rights of an old watch company. This is pretty common these days and doesn't mean the watch is bad but I think it is somewhat misleading.

jamunI see your point, and therefore changed "quite misleading" to "misleading" in my original post. As mentioned below, the current company is Chinese-owned and based in Hong Kong, and has no connection to the referenced American company beyond buying naming rights.
