Designed to provide comfort, stability, and support, the Injinji Sport series makes a strong argument for switching to toe socks. It’s available here in three heights: crew (one of the company’s most popular socks), mini-crew (the one that started it all), and the new “hidden” style for those who prefer a sock-free look Read More
It's disappointing that the hidden charcoal socks in M aren't in for sale. I bought one pack last drop and now they are my favorite socks. I wish I could buy a lot more.
I'm considering going with the hidden style instead of the micro-crew ones that I'm used to (they're lighter by almost an oz. and my toes and heel are my only problem spots for blisters whilst hiking)...but I've no experience with socks of this type (I prefer a full sock because I typically wear low cut boots or trail runners). I'm wondering if these would cause problems under a mini-crew Darn-Tough heavy cushion sock and I would, therefore, be better off sticking to the micro-crew type (which did well whilst hiking the AT).
M.a.vI have VFF spyridon MR Elite. I tried shorter socks that dosent cover my ankle, on a long runs it caused scuffs on my ankle.. before you buy the socks try your shoes without socks to check if they are causing scuffs.
Is there any kind of factory warranty. The last two pair of Coolmax socks, from two different company's, ripped when I put them on after only a couple washings. They weren't Injinji but they were Coolmax. I am a little reluctant to go down this road again.
stationchang1I have worn the mini crew original weights on several 100 mile backpacking trips. It puts noticeable wear on the sock but they hold up. My favorite sock to walk all day in.
stationchang1I went through only two pairs of micro-crew Injinji socks on my AT Thru-Hike a couple of years ago. They were trashed, but 1k mi. per pair is pretty respectable if you ask me.
EDIT: I lied. I started wearing these about 1/2 the way north (after fighting blisters for the first few months), so they "only" had about 550mi/pair on them...still respectable IMO. To put this in perspective I killed one pair of Darn-Tough socks (which were replaced for free, unlike these) in the same time period, so expect these to last half as long when used in conjunction with a primary hiking sock (I would assume a reduction in life when used alone).
