I'm considering going with the hidden style instead of the micro-crew ones that I'm used to (they're lighter by almost an oz. and my toes and heel are my only problem spots for blisters whilst hiking)...but I've no experience with socks of this type (I prefer a full sock because I typically wear low cut boots or trail runners). I'm wondering if these would cause problems under a mini-crew Darn-Tough heavy cushion sock and I would, therefore, be better off sticking to the micro-crew type (which did well whilst hiking the AT).

M.a.vI wear the micro crew under similar height wool crew socks. I've worn non-toe socks in the hidden style (smartwool brand) with casual shoes, boat shoes or dress shoes. I find that the hidden smartwools shift around a little. Not a problem in a non-hiking situation.

M.a.vI have VFF spyridon MR Elite. I tried shorter socks that dosent cover my ankle, on a long runs it caused scuffs on my ankle.. before you buy the socks try your shoes without socks to check if they are causing scuffs.
