oh wow... $163 over MSRP... a whale of a deal... The value of the cards in the box is no where near going to add up to $306.99. Perhaps next week we can buy resealed garbage pale booster pack for $30.00 and reprinted Chinese MTG reserve list cards for 3000% above fair market value. What do we have to lose?

xstortionistYou along with everyone else knows that MSRP means nothing on a 6 year old out of print product. That was simply the suggested retail when it came out in 2011. Not sure why Massdrop even lists MSRP on out of print items but we both know it is irrelevant.

I'm sure the state attorney general would state it's "irrelevant" as well if they were to take a look at this... False advertisement 101. MSRP can only be adjusted by the manufacturer, I don't see WotC adjusting MSRP on out of print products.

xstortionistThis has nothing to do with advertising and marketing. Obviously if Massdrop was trying to "market" them they would not even list the original MSRP as it means nothing. A brand new 1969 Mustang probably had a MSRP of under $5K .. I dont think you will find anyone selling pristine versions of that car for anywhere near that price either. 1) Magic cards are Collectibles.. 2) Collectibles go up and down in value based on Supply and Demand. That is a an economic term for you advertising and marketing people in case you missed that class. 3) Even if it was an in print item MSRP stands for Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price not Manufacturer Required price. 4) Massdrop is not buying these from WOTC and thus MSRP would be irrelevent no matter what, it is simply being listed as a reference point. Just because you were not buying Magic cards in 2011 and missed the opportunity to buy these at MSRP doesnt give you the right or make you sound very intelligent making the statements that you made.

scedaveNo point in arguing. At the end of the day, they can list the price for whatever they want. The term "suggested" does not require the selling party to abide by the price set by the manufacturer. The issue lies with WotC (Cashbro), it's up to them to be more strict with their policies and put their foot down. I just feel bad for anyone who buys the product due to the value of the cards.

xstortionistWhat does this have anything to do with WOTC. Massdrop does not buy their product from WOTC, they buy it from distributors who offer it to Massdrop based on current market prices. WOTC has not had a box of Innistrad to sell to ANYONE in 5+ years so they could care less what those boxes are selling for. Obviously it is to their best interest if older products go up in value. If all products went down in value over time less people would buy and collect them. People like to see the things they collect appreciate in value which keeps them collecting more.

But, Apparently you are wrong since Massdrop sells thousands of boxes and has been for several years now and it is not like they are hiding it from the rrst of the world. So apparently WOTC is fine with it since they have not gone after any of the retailers or distributors who supply Massdrop. Not to mention your arguement there is even completely irrelevent in regards to a product that has been out for years. WOTC cant tell someone 5 years after they bought a product who they can and cant resell it to. We live in America and we have a system called free enterprise so unless Massdrop starts selling things that are regulated by the government then they can sell them to who they want, for whatever they want and they can get the mdse from whomever they want.
Now please go crawl back under your rock.
