One of my favourites

I've long been a fan of Inov-8. The low drop and wide toe-box shoes have one me over in my trail running days. Then I discovered how durable the shoe was and all was good. They're so durable in fact that every time I have to get a new shoe I have to try a new model as the one I loved last had been discontinued. Coming back from a shoe I didn't like as much I find the Roclite 290 to be a great shoe. I've used it to hike through mountains in the middle east, the republic of Georgia and upstate NY. I've ran trails and a little bit of road with it. It's a little dirty but feels good as new. Comfort wise it's a wonder. It's responsive, grippy, hard where it should be and soft where it should be. Breathable and dries quickly. I couldn't recommend it more.

Fantastic brand

I've been a big fan of Inov-8 since discovering this brand a couple years back. The Roclite 290s are great for hiking and trailrunning, but also plenty comfortable for everyday wear. Inov-8 labels every shoe in men's and women's sizing, but I find they differ by about a half size. I wear their men's 9 and women's 11.

My favorite trail shoes

Recently I've owned Altra Lone Peaks, Adidas Terrex, and a couple other Inov-8 (260G, 305). These are by far my favorites. They were comfortable out of the box and the 4mm drop is just right for me. I like the way the sole is wearing, with no evidence of wear on the outside like most of my shoes, currently about 200 miles on these, I think the lugs help with that. I have ordered another pair (elsewhere, since not currently available on Massdrop). However, I did find they rub small by about a half size (I ordered an 11.5 where normally I wear an 11 in hiking shoes to allow for swelling, 10.5 in street shoes).

I bought these shoes for hiking, after using boots all my life. My first use of these shoes was a 4 day trip of 20-30 km per day (12-19 miles), and it was awesome !!!!! The shoes are comfortable, quite wide and the grip is great!!!

While the comfort of these shoes are on point, for me they run small. I am a consistent seven and a half. So I bought an eight for extra room, there is none. My toes touch the front of the toe box. Nice shoe, I will wear, next time buy a full size bigger.

I have had over 10 pairs of Inov8 shoes and generally would rate then 5 stars. However this one is a different beast. After around 100 km (61 miles), one laseing eyelet snapped. After around 120 km the one under it had snapped. In the other shoe two eyelets had almost been sawed through from the lase. Was surprised that the shoes only came with a 30 day warranty. Maybe it was a duff pair Or maybe it was a duff design. Who knows. I am being to accept my lose and get on with my life.
