Let me start by saying every foot is different and preference plays a big role in this. Go to a running shoe store and try some similar styles on. Your retailer may even be familiar with this brand and give you recommendations based on your foot size/type. The first pair of Inov's I bought was actually in a Fleet Feet. For those wanting to stay at home, maybe the following will help.
I've been scratching my head over all of the size comments I've read so I thought I would put up some pictures. I wear a size 9 and trainers and a 8.5 in most performance shoes. Below I have a Saucony Guide 9 in men's USA 9. My fingernail is pointed at where the front of my toe is located. I also have a men's USA size 8.5 in the Inov-8 Terraclaw. My fingernail is also marking the tip of my toe. To me, the Inov-8 Terraclaw exactly as expected and is very comparable to most shoes of its type. I've also compared to some other models I have in 8.5 Like Saucony Kinvara 5 (this is an older model) and Inov-8 X-talon 190. But every foot is different and preference plays a big role in this (many people say my trainers are too big) so my recommendation would be to go to a running store and try on some of their light weight road running shoes. I will say people with wide feet that think they are going to be wearing these shoes for hours, beware.

ghartne2I just got the blue/yellow 10 today from Amazon, and my toe is closer to the tip of the shoes than yours. Also, the 10 is a little wider than the 9.5, but still not wide enough. Yet, the fit from the 10 feels really awkward compared to the 9.5. I can't explain why or how, but my best way of putting it is; it looks like I'm wearing a tight bag of potatoes on my feet. I'm disappointed because their soles are awesome for what I want, and the shoes don't look bad either. I'm returning them. I'm also canceling my pledge here. Bummer. It's not for me, but for those with narrow feet, it's probably an awesome deal.

LeoKauaiI recently got my innov from massdrop. Womens US 10.5. Perfect for my use - lots of hiking, climbing and descents. Great grip, lots of toe box room, fits my wiiiide foot.

GPRossHi Gary! Was in your neighborhood over the weekend (the mountain one, not the ocean one) and thought about you! How's everything? Are you looking at buying some trail shoes?
