They look real good - fit like I expected. They ain't going to hold up though. For 50 bucks, they are a decent deal. Oh boy!!!, would I ever be ticked if I paid full price...... The edging (welt?) around the sole is already starting to come off and the heels show noticeable wear - after just wearing them 3 times. Like I said, they look real slick and I like 'em, just wish they were a little more sturdy.....
LSNadonI already made a previous comment -- having the same exact problem as one of the reviews show in the pictures......
This is what I did a few days ago, and it seems to be working really well --
Where the welt was coming apart, I stuck in a little contact cement. The soles on mine were coming off too. That started after I made my 1st comment in the review/reply. I used the contact cement on the soles also - so far, all is good.
NOW - this is something that you should not have to do, but for me, it's been a few days, it's working, so I'm happy. I really have sympathy for anyone that paid full price for these.....
I am in *LOVE* with these shoes. Do they come in WOMEN'S shoes? (Size 7 Wide, to be exact.)
Can you do a drop for the Women's shoes, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Yes, they ARE ugly. That's why I like them. (I think.) I may have to edit this post later, but I think it's the ugliness that attracts me to them, plus the fact that they are high tops. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
brenda52411There's no reason women can't wear "men's" shoes (or vice versa); you just need to know how the sizes convert. Typically, there's about a 1.5-size difference between the two (e.g., as a women's 10, I find men's 8.5 usually fits me well).
For a women's 7, you probably want to try a men's 5.5... which they don't seem to be offering, at least not in the current drop. (Though given how almost all the reviews say they're immediately falling apart, you probably dodged a bullet.) The next time you're somewhere that sells shoes, you might want to take 5 or 10 minutes to try on a few pairs of men's shoes in the size 5 to 5.5 range to see how different brands fit and get a feel for what men's sizing will tend to work best for you.
Agreed, and I think retro/ironic would be a more accurate name for the style than smart casual. They're not for somebody trying to follow trends and I doubt it will be a part of any trend anybody sets any time soon.
So I'm in.
Can anyone comment the sizing on these? How do they run, narrow, wide, a little short or long? Let's say I was going to compare sizes to some skechers?
LSNadonFWIW, in case these come around again --- I wear a 10, I ordered a 10. They fit pretty well. A 9.5 might have done the trick, but without having a pair to try on, I think I'd have to say "they run true to size"...
