Just got my large one in Brushed Chrome, and it's really great, except for one thing. After extending and retracting the ink a few times, the round bolt-action nub that sticks out from the pen loosens, because it is actually just screwed into the mechanism inside. When loose, it jiggles, and if not manually tightened, I imagine it would eventually just fall out of the pen. I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary with it, it loosens from the natural thumb motion required to engage the bolt-action. Is there any solution to this? Having to worry about this issue ruins the entire pen for me :/
JoetombobAnother thing I just noticed is a similar loosening issue with the top cap. Even if I screw it in tightly, using the bolt action a couple times loosens the top cap.. I'm guessing because the cap is a metal-on-metal threading, the impact of the bolt action loosens the threading. Do you have this experience too?
choobiesIf you screw the bolt it in tightly with a flat wedge it wont loosen from use. We disassemble/assemble it before shipping out in order to brush the chrome, but I'm sure this can be avoided if you tighten the bolt.
choobiesWith the cap, it takes a little extra force to tighten it, it's the metal -on- metal thing but if you put some force into it the cap shouldn't loosen either.
choobiesTry using a little bit of blue loctite or equivalent thread locking compound, it's basically not optional in knives and I bet the same goes for threaded pen components.
