I have one of these and don't recommend it. At least with my Moto X, the metal sides of my phone are too slippery for the foam grips on the insides of this mount and, combined with vibration from driving, my phone tends to slide down and fall out of the mount when held in portrait mode. More frustratingly, the sliding causes the grips to mash down my volume buttons, alternately turning my phone music all the way down and then all the way up to full blast.
The solution is to turn the mount 90 degrees and place your phone in it in landscape orientation. I had to offset my phone a little to keep the stand from pinching my volume buttons, but with the phone turned this way the stand is rock solid and i've had no further issues. The tradeoff is that many of the apps on my phone don't support landscape mode, so the phone is considerably harder to control now.
My advice is to find a mount with a third arm on the bottom to hold your phone in securely and keep it from sliding and falling out. Alternately, buy a rubber case for your phone if the sides are a slippery material, in order to give the grips a better purchase on your phone and stop them from pressing any side buttons.
Otherwise this mount is great, suction cup performs fine and has held strong for a year now (even after I moved it once a few months in). There are several axis of rotation which make this stand very flexible but still solid and not loose at all. the ratcheting mechanism to rotate the phone is especially satisfying and well done.
Overall a good purchase, but if I did it again i would certainly get a model with a bottom grip.
