As I've mentioned in previous Italix fountain pen drops...
" Note: If you search online, you may find conflicting descriptions about these nib types. Some of these are based on a misunderstanding, because the nib in such cases is being viewed from the back. We show the nib from the front. If you look at the back of the nib where the feed is, a left oblique will slant downwards from left to right, as is meant for right-handed people, while the right oblique will slant downwards from right to left, and is meant for left-handed people. "
Dear Massdrop, you can't really make this more confusing...
You speak of 'left obliques' and 'italic left obliques', but your picture description speaks of 'left-HANDED obliques'.
From the picture, do I want to order a a 'right-handed oblique' which is for left-handed people??? Is a 'right oblique' the same as the 'right-HANDED oblique' pictured?

GhostwriterThank you! I have asked this question a dozen times and have yet to receive a straight answer. I am a lefty, and ordered a left-handed non-italic oblique Parsons Essential from Massdrop (which, of course, was ordered sometime in the Mesozoic era and MAY arrive Tuesday if DHL is to be believed).
When and if I actually get it, I'll post here an answer for you.

GhostwriterI think that if you're right-handed, you get the right-handed oblique, and vice versa for the left. It explains it clearly in the graphic.

MorePieThat's my point. I think it's the opposite. If you look at the slant of the nib, I believe a lefty should order the 1. Right-Handed Oblique (or perhaps that's the 'Right Oblique'). That nib would come in the best contact with the paper if left-handed.
The 'helpful' description needs additional refinement.

Ghostwriterwell, i received my pen. i absolutely love it. it's easily the prettiest pen i own--and among the smoothest writers.
Now, the nib. I've attached two photos below: one from in front, one behind. On the left is a medium Waterford steel nib. The right is the Parsons Essential with, ostensibly, a "Medium Oblique Left-Handed Non Italic" grind, according to the label on the box. If that is in fact the grind, it is incredibly subtle. Maybe, MAYBE there's a cut down from left to right when viewing the nib from the front.
To me, it writes like a wet, smooth, medium. And is it smooth ... there is a HINT of a tooth at a certain angle, but i don't even think it's worth tuning. Really a lovely nib. Anyway, I can't imagine this would be very much help to you, except that i now really like Italix pens and that if I didn't hate Massdrop so much right now, i might join this drop.
