just received my Essential Medium Italic (green). tested it on premium paper. The pen writes smoothly when you hit the sweet spot as you're supposed to do with an italic pen. The nib is true italic with sharp edges on both sides, ensuring a crisp width variation of handwritten words. After a comparison with my favorite round nibbed FP- Platinum 3776 medium, I was surprised that my platinum pales in smoothness!! It's possible to write cursive with the Italix pen, however, you're undermining the true beauty of this pen. It's high time for me to learn italic cursive now. Thank you, Massdrop, for introducing this wonderful pen to me. But I probably won't join other drops on Italix pens, as I'd just order from MrPen directly.:)
