Hi @TheShoeSnob. Outstanding shoes first of all.
For sizing, my feet seem to measure a US 11B when getting, but most of my shoes I find comfortable at a US 10D-10.5D as anything bigger gives me a lot of heel slip, which I would assume as being horrible for a loafer.
I'm told my "instep" is high (the top of my foot?) and I am flatfooted. (My chiropractor says its some of the worst he's seen)
I plan to wear socks with these at all times
I have no loafers to compare to, but my AE Strands are a US 10, with a bearable tightness around the top of the foot. I have some Magnanni Cieza Captoes in US 10, and they fit wonderfully.
Wondering what you would suggest for sizing. I understand it's a tough one.

Ben_Sif the Magnanni's fit you perfectly, then I would probably say go with the the UK9.5E (US10.5D) as Magnanni run big compared to these loafers. I think that the UK10 will be too short
