The ink cartridges look proprietary, are they? Or are the same as generic European fountain pen cartridges? I'm worried about the limited North American distribution and where to get supplies for these brush pens.

DiggyHi @Diggy and @Just_I,
These brush pens don't use the international standard format, but they do use Platinum-style cartridges, which are not as common, but available elsewhere.
The pens can also use the Platinum Converter for bottled FP ink use.

LizA good cartridge system to prevent overflow would seem important for such a pen, and thus, the choice of the platinum cartridge. I am a writer, not an artist, and the only thing holding me back is my frugality.
