The J. Herbin Rocker-Blotter combo is quality stuff. Surprisingly I don't see it offered by many folks online - perhaps I'm not looking in the right places. Of those who sell it, the combo seems to cost significantly more than what's being offered here (at the lowest drop price but including shipping to USA).
Sure, there are other companies that make rockers and blotting paper, but these particular J. Herbin products are top notch. Others have mentioned how they've been using the same rocker (and blotter) for 6 months or more, even with heavy use.
The better the paper (for fountain pens), the more ink resistant. The more ink resistant the longer the dry time. The longer the dry time the more likely some will rub off onto the facing page of your journal or your hand or your shirt or whatever. Using a rocker and blotter will assure the ink is dry right away. Using one of high quality means it will take all the use you can throw at it.
Better retailers sell these, but the prices (unless bundled into another order) are usually $5 to $10 more than the lowest price being offered here. This is a good deal assuming you understand the overall Massdrop experience.
I've been using more ink resistant paper, lately. I'll throw a sheet of blotter paper between pages if I have to jot and dash or if I have to write higher on the page immediately after writing at the bottom of the page (and risk smearing). Having a rocker at the ready eliminates this issue.
If you're looking for a high quality rocker and blotter combo at a very competitive price (for the US), this is a good option to consider.
As usual, I hope this helps.
Cheers.

GonzoTGreatIt looks nice, but I've only committed to buy if it reaches the lowest price. Looks like that might not happen.

angelesI agree that the highest drop price (+ shipping) is close to what you could get from Amazon, so the lowest drop price probably makes the most sense.
It might not happen but who knows? Massdrop has been known to extend the drop by a day or three if sales are picking up and they're close to making their numbers.
Cheers.

GonzoTGreatWonder if they made it? I dropped out with less than 4 hours to go (due to finances mostly) and they still had only 16 people (35 needed for lowest price) at that time. But I see the drop ended so they didn't extend. Wonder if they got 19 people in that short window? First drop I've seen where they didn't get the needed number for the lowest price. And didn't extend the drop if that didn't happen.

GonzoTGreatGoulet has had a J Herbin blotter and paper set for ages now, and they routinely provide a nice discount when you buy them together, $37 + shipping (it will vary, so I don't list the shipping). The difference between Goulet and Massdrop is that Goulet ships within 1 business day of placing an order. Usually, it's worth it to purchase from them. They take their customer service seriously, unlike Massdrop.
