Product Description
Like its name would suggest, the Jacob & Co Five-Time-Zone tracks, well, five time zones. There’s the main timekeeper in the center, plus four different subdials: one for New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Tokyo Read More

Three hours to go, it seems that the Jacob & Co. $1,299.99 watch is going down in flames with no orders.

Would love a Jacob and co watch. Unfortunately I just bought 3 watches and exhausted my watch budget. This is a steal at that price. Excellent brand. Just bad timing

Are there five separate quartz movements [Answer: Yes, five, see below for details] or one? If five, are there five batteries? The four buttons make it look like you have to manually set each time zone separately.
On the other hand, maybe nobody cares and it's all for show, so whether the correct times are shown is irrelevant.
Edit: I haven't been able to find the answer to this, but Jacob & Co have worked with multiple Swiss suppliers, and it's possible that one has customized a movement for them for this watch to somehow get four time complications without extra movements and batteries. This watch has been in continuous production since 2002 with a bewildering number of design variations. This black, diamond numbers version is downright staid for them.
Further edit: Their Grand Five Time Zone watch, pictured below, has 5 separate Rhonda 1042 movements, basically five little ladies watch quartz movements, each with its own crown for setting. This seems like a pain in the butt to keep set and to keep filled with fresh batteries.

Yet another edit: The watch dropped here has four ETA 280.002 quartz movements and a central ETA 980.106 movement. There are versions that are bigger, 47 mm, which use an ETA 956.112 as the central movement.
Still another edit: It's definitely worth your time looking around the Jacob & Co. website. They have some seriously freaky watches:

The octopus watch. Not to be confused with their spider watch.

Somehow I have a feeling that some of their watches are just mocked up in a 3D modeling program, and if you try to order one you'll get quoted $1 million, a quarter on deposit, and a 10 month waiting list, at which point they will approach a watch company to try to figure out how to make it.

Not sure I understand the concept. One day, a guy who owns houses in NY, Paris, LA and Tokyo decided he wanted a bling multi-GMT watch for his use and made a line out of it? Who needs this, seriously??? :p

AleskbIt's a ritzy jeweler that started collaborating on watches in 2002, and you should get a load of some of their stuff. This five time zone thing is available in a bewildering number of variations. There is a tourbillon that has a working solar system under a hemispherical domed crystal. There is an $18 million watch that is all diamonds, including the bracelet.
The four time zones cover anywhere that the in crowd would ever go, except London, which you could set in the middle or just remember that it's one hour off of Paris. But Jacob & Co. hears your pain: They now sell a crazy 20 time zone pentagon watch.
It's a legitimate brand working with legitimate Swiss partners, if you want bling. This particular model is as dull as they get.
